Infrared Imaging and Remote Sensing Laboratory, LIR, was founded in 1991 by its current head Prof. Fernando Lopez. Nowadays LIR employ 19 professionals with expertise in optics and infrared technology (including doctors, technicians, granters and students) and also, LIR participates in national research projects, international and even space.

CAPABILITIES
The LIR is the only Spanish laboratory with the capabilities, resources and expertise to provide the domestic industry from small solutions to specific production problems, to complete systems "turnkey" or renew to optimize their processes and incorporate new features thanks to Infrared Technology.
Within LIR comes the creation of a laboratory, the Infrared Imaging and Thermography Laboratory, LATIR, is endowed by the Madrid and Universidad Carlos III, to promote the applications of IR and support to other labs, centers and companies within Community of Madrid and the rest of Spain that requires this knowledge.
