Spectral Analysis


IR Spectroscopy can study almost any matter, regardless of its physical state: liquids, dilutions, powders, films, gas or surfaces are a few examples.

When infrared radiation interacts with matter, it suffers an alteration. The IR spectrum is obtained when radiation pass through a given sample and determining which fraction of this incident radiation has been absorbed. This fraction is consider its “spectral signature”, being unique and characteristic.

In this way, an IR spectral analysis with enough resolution (< nm) can determine molecule vibro-rotational structure, type and concentration of the sample with which the IR is interacting.

To create an IR image from a sample on a focal plane is another of the features of IR radiation provided by contrasting, not only from the reflected light but the emitted from the object.
The combination of both techniques generates Spectral Image; one of its main characteristics is the huge amount of data to process and the consequent processing time for decision-making.
